TRINIDAD & TOBAGO MASSAGE CHAMPIONSHIP
Objective
The Caribbean Association of Massage & Bodywork Practitioners purpose for this championship, is to encourage Massage and Bodywork Practitioners to excel, to self-evaluate, show their skills in the varied modalities and share their knowledge and techniques and forge new connections while maintaining the foundation of the massage and bodywork discipline that they practice.
Format:
Live event competition in Trinidad and Tobago. Venue to be announced.
Rules of Participation:

Each Massage Therapist can participate in 1 or 2 categories.

Participants must wear sports shoes, sports pants or yoga pants, T-shirts etc.

Shoes are not allowed in Thai Yoga Massage.

Chair Massage is fully clothed ONLY. NO USE OF OILS.

Participants are to bring their own tables, mats, sheets, towels, tools, oils, etc.

The recipient of the massage must wear underwear at all times and have covered their chest (if she is a woman).

Any area which is not being worked on must be securely draped.

No cameras are allowed during the qualifying rounds and the finals.
Unauthorized use of cameras and recordings can result in expulsion from the competition.
INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR

Inappropriate behavior Will Not be tolerated

Any massage of sensual/sexual nature would result in immediate disqualification and expulsion from the Championship. All participants are required to receive massage, as well as giving massages.

No chiropractic and osteopathic manipulations are allowed during the competition.
Massage categories:
-
Swedish massage – using long strokes kneading deep circular movements, stretching etc.

Sports Massage - focus on enhancing circulation, increasing tissue elasticity and reducing muscle tension and increasing joint flexibility. (MFR, neuromuscular techniques, stretching etc.)

Asian massage - (Thai massage, Shiatsu, Tui Na, Ayurveda etc.) The participant can work on the floor or on a table, using hands and feet to target acupressure points that connect to various body systems,

Wellness Massage- encompasses any of the following modalities; (Hot Stone, Aromatherapy, cupping, Spa Massage, lymph drainage, holistic massage) Reiki Lomi Lomi

Free Style Massage - (Combination of different types of massage modalities, Swedish mobilization, cupping, massage with tools, Shiatsu, Acupressure, Thai massage etc.

Chair Massage- takes place on a traditional massage chair, designed to take the weight off the spine and give easy access to the head, neck, back, shoulders and arms. Done over the clothes. No oils or creams required.

Facial Massage- (Japanese facelifting, Gua Sha, Classical facial spa treatment etc.) the participant must specifically focus on the massage technique (cosmetic or cosmetic products. Technique, posture, development, use of elements, hygiene measures, treatment approach.

Clinical Massage - (60 minutes + interviews; you must show that you can assess and treat a problem area, demonstrate/explain how and why the treatment type was a good choice, exhibit efficacy of treatment.)
NB: All the judges at the competition are qualified to evaluate their respective categories.
